Well, it took a lot of work and a lot of help from a lot of people, but I finally got the LE / PL/I / HFS problem fixed.
How you guys do this SMP/E stuff day in and day out is amazing to me. Of course, maybe because you do it day in and day out it is more natural. But I found it a horror to work with. No application programmers have any idea of what goes on behind the scenes to let them develop their applications. So thanks again to everyone on this list (and off) who helped me get the job done. Now I can get back to my work.
