The "ARCHLVL = 2" will make sure that the z/OS V1R6 supports 64 bit
mode (or working at 64-bit mode)?
As far as I know, z/OS V1R6 -requires- ARCHLVL 2 and will not IPL
without it. Thus, there is no question for z/OS V1R6 that 64-bit
processing is available.
