I only add that you can't free any dataset that is OPEN. So if the OP is
looking for a generic "free any allocated dataset" then s/he might be
quite disappointed fairly often. e.g. abandon any hope of
freeing/reallocating library concatenations used by ISPF while ISPF is
active.
