I have a feeling this *IS* an ISPF problem.
Haven't tooled with CSI for a while, but I recall this only happens if you
use a *very* generic search key - like "*"or maybe "*.**"
I used to use this feature in a batch catalog scanner to make sure we didn't
have any "lost" system-level catalog entries after new Serverpac builds,
back when we still ran multiple mastercats.

Sounds like ISPF may be using a generic search key then scanning the result
for what the user requested.
