We had one for awhile. We decided that the MP3000 internal adapters don't
have the capacity of our previous OSA, so we added a Cisco router and CIP
card. I think the consensus was that the internal cards are OK for limited
use. Our H50 was able to support way more CICS users than the internal
cards would allow.
You can also offload TN3270 to the Cisco router, to offload a lot of traffic
from the TCPIP stack. You can put SSL on network as well. We did that to
stretch our H50 for a few months while we moved to a z800. We still use the
Cisco for TN3270, but use the OSA for other traffic such as FTP.
