4.6.3.3 Defining the Default Management Class
Recommendation: Specifically assign all system-managed data to a
management class. If you do not supply a default, DFSMShsm uses two days
on primary storage, and 60 days on migration level 1 storage, as the
default.

2.1.4.5 Using the Default Management Class
If you do not specify a default management class, DFSMShsm generates its
own default by using the default values for all of the management class
attributes. Thus, in the absence of a specified default management class,
DFSMShsm uses the following values for any SMS-managed data set for which
a management class is not assigned.
