The only time that I thought that you had to tell HSM was when you wanted to encrypt in zos and that was only set up for dumps, ie dumpclass. Sounds like you're using the tape drive encryption and I would have assumed that would just be the dataclass. If HSM has to know about encryption, eg FBID, I hope that you get the answer before I have to get there. Not much help but ....
