Ken I have no experience with "twitter" but I did learn recently that there is a maximum of 140 characters per "tweet" so it will be a rare post of mine that manages to qualify as a "tweet". There was a risk that my post in response to Bob Woodside would be less that 140 characters but then I spotted his example.
I hope you haven't been inspired to make this comment from a recent supposed gaffe by "call me Dave" Cameron, practically guaranteed to be the next British Prime Minister. As for "off topic", I checked that claim as well. Given that I inspired if not strictly originated this thread - it should have preserved the (was Re: Mainframe hacker) addition, I believe I should be the arbiter of whether or not a post in on topic - which puts your claim at an immediate disadvantage! To have a majority, "most of", out of 14, you'd need a score of 8. Let's see how you get on: 1. David Alcock: unquestionably on topic 2. Eric Bielefeld: same 3. Ted MacNeil: same 4. Greg Shirey: same 5. Pat O'Keefe: same 6. Radoslaw Skorupka: same 7. Bob Woodside: you got me here, mainly I responded because I felt one word was injudiciously chosen 8. Guy Gardoit: indubitably on topic 9. John Gilmore: same 10. Mary Anne Matyaz: same 11. John McKown: same 12. John McKown (again): I tried to give you this one - but I can't! 13. Radoslaw Skorupka (again): manifestly on topic 14. Ed Finnell: I'm not going to count this one since it was a mere thanks for revealing the "95 theses" which nailed the matter once and for all Note that I applied the criterion of simply not being "off topic" rather than not being "so off topic". Your score is 1 out of 13. Play again?
