25.2.2.1 JCL DD Statement Facilities Not Supported by Dynamic Allocation
of z/OS MVS Programming: Authorized Assembler Services Guide (Document

clearly states that the RETAIN specification of the VOLUME keyword cannot be 
used by DYNALLOC. 

I guess that means it cannot be used by BPXWDYN or ALLOCATE either...

I use an assembler routine that I call, giving it the text units I want SVC99 
to 
use.
