I worked at an IBM development lab for seven years, and we never had anything like JCLCHECK/JCLPREP. Before then, I think I came across JCLCHECK once, when I worked in Germany.
Most of the JCL I write is pretty generic anyway, and relies mostly on the usual IBM utilities being present. That way, I can take my library of jobs with me wherever I end up working. I often wonder if JCL checkers and such like are worth the cost, especially if your site is set up to catch JCL errors, or jobs that break site standards, well before they hit production?
