Has been done via SHARE requirement. IBM is aware of the sentiment:
"SSMVSE08015 IBMLink needs to be available 24x7
Submitted to IBM: 2009-01-28 08:29 UGStatus: A
Response Code: SG-Suggestion Date: 2009-06-22 by Response: IBM will use
this request as input to planning but no commitment is made or implied."
Those with logon access to SHARE MVSE requirements can find the full
text of the requirement under "View Responses Since 2009-04", but one of
the points I made is that maintenance to production z/OS systems is most
likely to be installed on a weekend, potentially placing the maximum
exposure of production systems to new bugs precisely at the time when
IBMLink reserves the right to a regular maintenance window!
