Nowadays, SDSF, (E)JES, Flasher, et. al. have functionally superseded all but the first, and even that has antiquated restrictions that engender pangs of obsolescence.
BTW, I have seen suggested here "PREFIX **" and "PREFIX *". Zero asterisks is sufficent (Think of it as selecting any jobname that consists of the null string plus optional following characters.)
