That won't happen. There are a few Operlog "show stoppers" IBM would need to address before Syslog obsolescence could be entertained. I authored two SHARE requirements in this area that remain "Recognized". Even with those obstacles removed, it's hard to imagine IBM forcing such a drastic procedural change for so little gain. Removing Syslog won't solve any real problem or dramatically reduce development costs.
