The way I read the announcement it may be a hybrid Linux and z/OS. System z Solutions Edition for GDPS (does Linux do GDPS?) System z Solution Edition for Enterprise Security (RACF?) Solution Edition series also enhances the existing SAP offering, which is designed to provide near-continuous availability and data protection with DB2 for z/OS databases on System z. The solution can now be combined with SAP application deployments for running Linux on the System z platform.
-----Original Message----- Rich Juchniewicz Tim, I read the press release in your post -- which says that the solution for BC Card was structured as a System z Solution Edition http://www-03.ibm.com/press/us/en/pressrelease/28181.wss Reading through that, I get the impression that this is primarily a Linux on z/Series solution -- rather than z/OS. What percentage of the solution will actually be implemented on z/OS and with what software? -- or is this mostly a consolidation of distributed servers to System z Linux? Thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
