My question is, do vendors (IBM and CA > mostly) offer products on 3592 format or are we going to have problems > if we get rid of the 3480 drives and try to order new software? That is exactly why our 3952 conversion includes a 3490-C22 with two drives! It is rack-mounted and relatively inexpensive. Another possibility, which I don't really suggest, it to SCSI attach a 3490 drive to a Intel PC. You could then copy data to/from that and ftp it from/to the z/OS system. Or something like that. It might be less expensive and easier to "sell" to management (FSVO "easier"). -- John McKown Senior Systems Programmer UICI Insurance Center Information Technology This message (including any attachments) contains confidential information intended for a specific individual and purpose, and its' content is protected by law.
