Due to the way that IBM has generated the PDF, you cannot cut from it. 
Apparently it is an image type PDF, not a text PDF. This may explain IBM's 
apparent discontinuing of bookmanager books. You can cut from them. Which IBM 
might think contributes to possible copyright violation. So the image format 
PDF is a form of DRM.
