I don't see any advantage other than possibly a few less control cards etc. in your cloning job (although ours selects the zFS data sets with a generic name, so 1 or 5 doesn't change anything). If you did want to copy it all logically, I would use copytree. It is in the samples directory. Hopefully you have bpx.superuser authority or actually have UID=0 by default (which I don't like).
