Long lines are also a problem for me and I too spend a lot of time keeping things short.
One additional problem I seem to have is that, when breaking up long lines, the <enter> key seems to result in double spacing. That being the case, I try to use <shift><enter> instead, but it's hard to remember when you just want to get some thoughts down before falling victim to a senior moment. > Date: Tue, 16 Feb 2010 09:03:24 -0700 > From: [email protected] > Subject: Re: Netiquette Guidelines (Was: Preview: z/OS V1.12) > To: [email protected] > =snip= > Actually, I would appreciate it if more people followed > this guideline: > > "Limit line length to fewer than 65 characters and end a > line with a carriage return." > > > Long lines are problematic for me; a mail client may well > automatically wrap to fit screen size, but when replying, > long lines generally don't wrap and I spend a lot of time > reformatting the quoted text to make it readable without > scrolling or having wierd line breaks.
