Unless you want an administrative nightmare or have an army of system
programmers, you will follow IBM's strong recommendation to share everything
as much as possible: SHARED PARMLIB, SHARED MASTERCAT, SHARED PROCLIB,
SHARED JESPOOL.
In fact that means sysplex (MAS require base sysplex). So, for
performance reasons you should follow another IBM recommendation:
parallel sysplex. And another one: single RACF db. In fact you get
multi-member sysplex (SYSTEM!) which is used for production,
development, QA, stress tests... I'm not IBM, b ut I wouldn't recommend
it, no way. <g>
BTW: Unless you have poor administrators, there is no nightmare in
administration of non-shared PARMLIBs, MASTERCATs, PROCLIBs, etc. etc.
The overhead for repeated activities can be reasonably small. In simple
words: you think once, code once, check once, test once, and finally
implement several times - usually by issuing multiple SUBmits.
