I assume by this you mean that you have defined an *APPL* statement - rather than an ACB since an ACB is a control block within the VTAM program which has the same name as the APPL statement - and that this APPL statement contained in an application major node has been activated, the corresponding VTAM-based program has been activated and the APPL name shows a status of ACTIV. > We are obviously missing some link here but not being a VTAM sysprog, ... Perhaps you should involve your VTAM "sysprog" in this project. I hope I am not going to hear of yet another case of the VTAM specialist having been "let go" while VTAM is still in use in a production environment - what are the "suits" thinking of? If this is the case, perhaps he/she can be recalled - if not somewhere on a cruise of course! - in order to fix the problem - with a little bit of silver deposited on palms of course - and, of course, a cost anticipated at the time he/she was "let go" ... > Displaying a VTAM ACB on the test system from production shows the following: > ... > IST075I NAME = NET1.SE1JQP, TYPE = DIRECTORY ENTRY > ... This indicates that there is some sort of connectivity between the test system and the production system but why "a VTAM ACB" - meaning APPL I guess - rather than "the new VTAM ACB"? > IST453I ID PARAMETER VALUE NET1.SE1VDR NOT VALID I assume that SE1VDR is the new APPL name. I have no idea at all whatsoever as to what "RESPONSE=S0E2" might happen to mean. If you want general help you are obliged to use generally recognisable commands. Is this a message from the test VTAM or the production VTAM? I had assumed, perhaps incorrectly, that you had managed to get the new application into an ACTIV VTAM state. It may also help to explain what sort of VTAM connection there is between the test system and the production system and if, as I suspect, it is APPN, whether the VTAM nodes are defined as End Nodes or Network Nodes.
