Most mainframe shops own File/AID. This has both an online and batch element to it. File/AID batch is very powerful and we have replaced many of our Easytrieve jobs with it. It performs better (less CPU) and is far easier to maintain. even some of our junior team members are proficient in File/AID batch.
Have a look into your tools portfolio. If you have File/AID then it's a no brainer. Regards. Simone.
