Under Win7 you can setup and run a WinXP Virtual Machine. A free XP system image is available for download from Microsoft to run under Win7. You should be able to install and run old software in the XP VM. I've had to do that with a number of packages. It's a bit slow starting up the VM but runs fine after that.

Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, then contact the software publisher." Just for grins, I also tried checking "run as Administrator" on setup.exe Properties under Compatibility, but got the same thing. I am running Windows-7 64-bit, but other 32 bit software installs fine into "Program Files (x86)". Thanks for the suggestion, though. I knew it was there, but hadn't thought of it. Very much appreciated. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
