The idea of editing a file containing all of the characters in the BMP
gives me the creeps, but I see no problem with editing a file containing
only those Unicode characters found in the particular 3270. For that
matter, XEDIT could imitate ISPF/PDF EDIT and make lines containing
non-displayable characters protected.
