Is that based upon anecdotal evidence? Here's another. One of the biggest sites that I dealt with from 1980 to 1985 had ten of the biggest processors you could get in one data center. It was my understanding that the other data center was a little smaller, but I was never there. Today, after acquiring several foreign subsidiaries and consolidating many of them at headquarters, I think they are down to one z10 at each site. The number of system programmers is about the same. -- Tom Marchant ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
