Back before zFS, I used to keep the Unix files completely off of sysres
and include the IPL volume serial as part of the dsn, using static system
symbols to refer to the right one. There's a discussion of the topic in
the z/OS Unix planning guide, and the currently recommended approach is a
little more complicated than what I did, but still straightforward.
