Matan,

A full power-down can be problematic. I would recommend that you spend the extra money to get an IBM FE on site to ensure that all machines are powered down correctly. Most sites I work at haven't powered down in years, so they do not know the procedures. Also, your older equipment may go belly up just from the power off, power on process. I once had to move 6 3174 controllers, and 3 of the power supplies and one of the diskette drives failed on startup.
