I realise that. You beat me to my punch-line. If JCL is not a programming language, then is channel programming? IMO, an answer of no to JCL, and yes to the latter, is just showing a bias. Although my first job was a JCL jockey, 30 years ago, and I do consider JCL as a poor programming language, doesn't mean I like it.
