Mark, Am i being picky here in being concerned with the overhead of going thru hundreds of structures just to clear these pendings for a handful. Having to take the structures out of duplexing and doing the rebuilds and then going back into duplexing seems quite cumbersome.
I would assume that everyone just uses the reallocate. I know how fast this is done by XCF but it is unlike IBM to use excessive system resources when it is not necsessary. One other thing I found surprising is that I did not see and commands related to the clearing of the pending condition by the reallocate. It would be nice if we new exactly what the reallocate was doing under the covers and we would not have to ask these questions. Thanks again for your response. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
