yesterday. Apparently the Supreme Court declined
to hear a case where New York sued a contractor
in Tennessee for income tax, since the contractor's
client was in the city and he sometimes went there
to meet the client!

Are you sure he ever left Tennessee and went to New York for meetings? The way I heard the story he was a 100% Telecommuter and had no physical contact with his NY Client.
