Yeah, since sending that, I've learned a bit more. I'm not calling any BPX program -- I'm calling a program that has POSIX(ON) and creates files using POSIX functions. And it seems to still be 0022, even though I've changed it to 0000 in the profiles. I don't see it in RACF anywhere, but of course that doesn't mean I'm not just missing it. There's the _BPX_BATCH_UMASK STDENV variable, but that only seems to apply to BPXBATCH. Maybe I need to just call umask from the program -- that just seems odd and poorly thought out, though.
