When adjusting the permissions, keep in mind that many auditors want to see zeros in the low order octet (xx0). Any ID needing access should gain that access via the group or even as the file owner.
-----Original Message----- From: IBM Mainframe Discussion List [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Leonard Sasso Sent: Wednesday, November 10, 2010 9:51 AM To: [email protected] Subject: File Permissions Question Job GET: Mainframe Batch job executing SFTP to retrieve a file, from an external site, to our HFS System. Job READ: Mainframe Batch job, executes after Job A completes successfully, reads the file on the HFS System. This job issues an “unable to open” message for the file on the HFS System. Problem: The permissions on the file do not allow Job READ to read the file. Question: How can we assign the proper permissions (“644”) to the file during or after the file transfer? Please Note: HFS file name (including path): /a/bbbbbbbb/cccccc/dddd/eeee/ffff/ FILENAMEeeeeee_CCYYMMDD.txt TIA Len Sasso NOTICE: This electronic mail message and any files transmitted with it are intended exclusively for the individual or entity to which it is addressed.
