You're probably right. Notice it does not say "primary." It says "1st

Does the DSCB-1 differentiate between Primary and Secondary requests?
Combined DSCB-1 and DSCB-2 will hold 16 extents worth of information. Surely
there is no need to hold a specific primary quantity as the request will
have been satisfied in up to 5 extents depending upon whether CONTIG has
been specified or not. The converse of course is that the secondary request,
needs to be held to allow for growth up to the 16 extents limit of the
DSCB-1/2 pair for a volume.

Does ISPF actually report a definite valued, or does it calculate a value
based on the first n extents? I seem to recall reading somewhere that some
component did this but Virtual Memory has
