Also, I apologise for posting my reply to the rude user to the list,
however the fact is that if I had sent it to him personally, I would
have become legally liable to prosecution for harassment; it was not my
intention to upset anybody :-S

Rude and boorish behavior are best rewarded by a stony silence. We're
all professionals here and it behooves us to behave in a professional
fashion. And IMHO, personnal attacks qualify as probably the most
UNprofessonal behavior. If someone chooses to behave like a spoiled
child, ignore it, much as your hand might itch to smack an offender's
read end, or a toe might itch for a speedy implant in a similar location.
