Howard: Interesting response. My take on is different.Using line mode "EDIT" has helped me save the day say on the order of 6 times (at least). You always have to have a fall back incase TSO does not come up (for many reasons) and you have to revert back to a previous version of the parmlib member *OR* the ipl is not successful because someone blew an edit and the UPDATE *HAS* to go in.Its not difficult to use and like I said before line edit is not at all difficult. One time I had to use it because a team member missed a continuation in ieasys00. It was a quick create a job card and an exec card//sysin dd *edit 'sys1.parmlib(ieasys00)'c 12345678 /8/8,0/end save//

I'm way to lazy to use those tools when I can use a keyboard instead. I see that a lot of my techniques are a result of my being lazy - and of my liking to sleep at night. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
