What Peter Hunkeler and Tomas Fott have posted will work.

However, what about using OCOPY? I have not used OCOPY a lot, but I don't really have a need to move a file from a HFS to a "MVS" file, but I thought that is what OCOPY was created for.

Hi,

Over the last few weeks I have been successful in engineering the ability to
FTP between z/OS and Microsoft Platforms, and z/OS and OS/390 platforms. My
configuration is z/OS 1.6, using the vanilla FTPD Server supplied by IBM,
excepting for data set allocation amendments.

What I would really like is to be able to FTP into the Unix System Services
environment within z/OS, both to provide a backup capability of WEBSphere data,
and to import additional code, such as java routines.

I know that TCP/IP as supplied has a reserved port 1021 indicating OMVS as the
associated tasks.

My question is, do I need an additional FTP Server running in USS to take
advantage of port 1021. Trying to access port 1021 externally does not seem to
get me very far.

I am sorry if this is a basic question but I have perused both the IP Config
Reference and the IP Config Guide manuals, and found them lacking in helpful
examples.

Thanks in anticipation - Terry
