Don't know if this was the beginning of it or not Newsgroups: bit.listserv.ibm-main From: broi...@ibm-main.gti.net (Jeffrey R. That's "OT" for
"Off-Topic". So, instead of engaging in off-topic discussions in this list, where they are clearly inappropriate, why not move them over there? It's easy to subscribe (unless you are in India, perhaps, assuming the Indian government is still attempting to block access to Yahoo). To subscribe, simply follow this link and follow the instructions on the resulting page: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/IBM-Main-OT/ Regards, Bomber On Fri, 5 Mar 2004 14:38:30 -0600, Darren, our liege lord, graciously wrote: > <snip> Stop with the off-topic posts!!! But apparantly YAHOO in their infininte wisdom has made the default to enable "chat" as part of YAHOO's group facility. That means that people of lets say less than diserable character hang around and try and engage you in chat. As far as I can see there is little or nothing the typical user can stop from engaging people in chat. I asked YAHOO and they said the owner of the group has to disable chat for the entire group. I am asking the group to ask Darren to disable CHAT for IBM-Main. According to YAHOO the owner must go to: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/groups/original/members/chat/ygchatmod- 01.html And select to disable chat. What do other think about asking Darren . I am ccing him on this email. Please discuss with darren what you think of this idea.
