I guess I'm not as much as a skeptic as you <g>. I didn't test the above
statement.
ISPF's DSLIST service can return data set size in ZDLSIZE, and
like most (all?) other ISPF services, it can be called
programmatically via ISPLINK or ISPEXEC outside TSO/E. For one
example of calling ISPLINK from assembler, see:
