If you Google DASD 3390 types you will find this link
http://www.sdisw.com/vm/dasd_capacity.html

This link has a nice table of space type based on dasd type. For example

Disk Type Data cylinders Alternate cylinders Tracks per cylinder
Bytes per track Bytes per cylinder Bytes per module
3380 E 1770 2 15
47,476 712,140 1,260,487,800

It has a similar description for many dasd types.

However, the fact that most dasd are storage arrays and not round spinning
disks of the past means that you could make a disk type anything you want.

Typically I have seen some shops use 3390-1 to mean a non-typical dasd type
(like a 100 cylinder disk rather than a 3339 cylinder disk).

Google is your friend.

Also, DTS Software has a reference card on their website you can download
that has this information and lots of other cool stuff in it. Go to the
download page and select the POCKET REFERENCE GUIDE.
