Hi,

if you are really using the XMIT manager as documented in CBT, I would suggest 
you are likely to hit problems. Certainly the moment you use an XMIT file 
created from a PDSE XMIT manager will let you down.

We hit these problems too. However in Sourceforge there is a similar (if much 
larger, written in JAVA) program UnXmit. We find this program a whole lot 
better, AND the programmer is really helpful. Unfortunately the programmer of 
XMIT manager no longer seems to support the program and z/OS has moved on! :-((

I must stress both these programs manage and extract from XMIT files created on 
the mainframe. There are commercial programs that will allow you to update an 
Xmit file. One of them (which we have not tried) is from 
http://www.tachyonsoft.com/ Look under the Workbench section.
