64-bit shared virtual storage is not freed unless all address spaces that had 
connected to the 64-bit shared memory object have terminated or have 
explicitly issued an IARV64 DETACH AFFINITY=LOCAL, AND an explicit IARV64 
DETACH AFFINITY=SYSTEM is also issued. The 64-bit shared virtual storage 
will not be freed if an IARV64 DETACH AFFINITY=SYSTEM is not explicitly 
issued.  


In your post you mentioned that the GETSHARED area appears to be freed 
even when an IARV64 DETACH AFFINITY=SYSTEM is not issued. How did you 
arrive at this conclusion? The area will not be freed unless a DETACH 
AFFINITY=SYSTEM is issued.
