Benyamin, 64-bit shared virtual storage is not freed unless all address spaces that had connected to the 64-bit shared memory object have terminated or have explicitly issued an IARV64 DETACH AFFINITY=LOCAL, AND an explicit IARV64 DETACH AFFINITY=SYSTEM is also issued. The 64-bit shared virtual storage will not be freed if an IARV64 DETACH AFFINITY=SYSTEM is not explicitly issued.
In your post you mentioned that the GETSHARED area appears to be freed even when an IARV64 DETACH AFFINITY=SYSTEM is not issued. How did you arrive at this conclusion? The area will not be freed unless a DETACH AFFINITY=SYSTEM is issued.
