Mixed mode is used for edit file which contains DBCS data and in this mode HILITE is unvailable.
In a edit session I issue 'EDIT' to invoke another edit session and in the panel I find that the default is "mixed mode". However,if you change that,next time you invoke editor this way the default is still 'mixed mode'.
