Hi all,

Many thanks to Charles, Chuck and Sam for responding to my email. The customer was able to configure his TN3270 emulator to select point-and-shoot fields using a mouse, and is now happily 'surfing the mainframe'. For those who might be interested, the procedure for configuring the TN3270 emulator is as follows:

1. Open the Setup menu and select Keyboard...
2. In the Keyboard pane of the Session Setup dialog box, click the
Configure... button.
3. In the Keyboard Setup dialog box, select "Terminal Keys" in the
Function Group drop-down list box.
4. Select Hotspot in the Function list box.
5. Click the Add Key... button.
6. Click the desired mouse button over the text in the Type Key dialog
box.
7. Click the OK button in the Type Key dialog box.
8. Click the OK button in the Keyboard Setup dialog box.
9. Click the OK or Apply button in the Session Setup dialog box.

Hi All,

Is anyone out there using TN3270 Plus as their host emulator? I have a customer who says he cannot use his mouse to select ISPF point-and-shoot fields when using that emulator. For example, he cannot point the mouse at a line command field in a regular ISPF member list and click (or double click) the left or right mouse button to select the member.

With some emulators (e.g. Vista), the ability to click ISPF point-and-shoot fields with a mouse is configured right out of the box. With other emulators (e.g. P-COM), certain configuration options have to be set before a mouse can be used. With still others (I think HOD is an example), the mouse cannot be used at all. Does anyone know which category TN3270 falls into, and if it falls into the second category then which options have to be set?

Many thanks in advance,

Dave Salt
