I didn't mean IDCAMS REPRO itself (however I was unclear). IBM dropped
support for REPRO in new hardware crypto features. In other words it
is formally supported, but doesn't work on machines z/990 and z9. Last
machine that supported REPRO encipher is z/800 (z/900 for bigger
customers) - it's becoming history.
I was surprised to find that you are correct, but IBM buries that info.
The IDCAMS manual refers you to the ICSF Sysprog Ref, and the z/OS 1.6
version of that manual says
Restriction: AMS REPRO Encryption is not supported when running FMID
HCR7708 on an IBM e(logo)server zSeries 990.
