Oh...I gave you a the City of Los Angeles's Database tier reports...You
have to click on REPORTS and then IT PREFFERED STANDARDS...And then you
can see what their using for their Mainframes..Its interesting.
You do realize that this is from 1996?
They mention two different IBM mainframes, a 4381 (DMV's) and a 3090J
600J (the city's)
IIRC the largest 4381 was rated at about 20 MIPS and the 3090 600J was
something like 125-130 MIPS. The latest mainframe from IBM has a single
CPU rating of about 600 MIPS. Please remember that a MIP is a
Meaningless Indicator of Performance and do not alway mean anything even
when comparing CPU from "like" families.
