Thank you.

Continuing with the first part of the question.
*
There is an LDAP server on z/OS 1.6, how can I determine the
suffix that specifies the distinguished name for the root of the
directory in the database.
*
It has taken me two days of reading everything I could find on LDAP in
z/OS just to correctly phrase the question.

Has it been setup? IIRC LDAP is not running by default. LDAP on z/OS can use mutliple back end data stores and depending on which back end data store is use will make a difference of where you need to look. You can actually run all 3 I beleive and have 3 different LDAP servers up and running at the same time (all listening on different IP addresses and/or ports)

However, whomever setup LDAP should be able to tell you.
