Just to elaborate:

At the time the LNKLIST is initially created (IPL), the catalog address space
has not yet started. The only catalog that can be accessed at this time is the
master cat, and alias processing is not yet available. Hence the use of
VOL=XXXXXX coding and/or use of system symbols on the LNKLST ADD statement.

After the catalog address has initialized, any dataset (alias or real name) may
be added to the LNKLST via use of the SETPROG LNKLST,ADD,DSNAME=.... command.

I would *STRONGLY* discourage the use of dataset aliaii for use in LNKLST, but
, as Seymour would say, "it's not my dog".
