Eric and Bruno, The VLVI software is part of the Resource Manager package of software. This package includes the management interface software (Storage Navigator/Remote Console), so if you don't have VLVI then you must be getting the engineer to do everything from the Service Processor inside the Storage.
It probably can be done, but I've never seen a box sold without the basic management software. I'll concede that the Resource Manager package may have changed over time, but I'm certain VLVI was included with it on the 9900V and with the USP.
