Interviews will usually weed out the b.s. artists, doesn't necessarily detect potential personality conflicts.
having a "certification" doesn't guarantee that you will be a good fit for the company, or vice versa. bring someone in as a contractor for x amount of time. if you like the work they do, and they like working there, keep them as a contractor, or hire them full time.
