I suppose that there will eventually be a big stink and another well
known audit firm put out of business when there is a problem with the
suggested measures. Or, perhaps, a couple of high level executives
burned (or even jailed) after implementing some poorly thought out
audit
'finding'.
I wonder.. doesn't SOX push accountability all the way back to the
auditor?

That indeed would be interesting... I hope that was (is) true. I
agree with your credibility stance. There was an article about the
auditors in one of my trade newspapers that came in the mail two days
ago. I will try and make an effort to read it Friday while waiting
for surgery.
