Well stated John. As the Brits are not party to the Euro, their prices are 
different to the rest of Europe (and not being physically attached to 'Europe', 
why should the Brits adopt European ways anyway - we could discuss that issue 
for days!). I recall back in the 70s being able to buy 3330 disks in the US for 
my company (a British bank) and saving £60,000 ($90K in today's US money) on 
the deal, even after buying the different power power supplies. The IBM 
salesman was not best pleased.

xceptions.
They are said to reflect real differences in the costs of doing
usiness in different regions.  They are fixed locally by local
anagements, who do of course have
ontribution-to-margin/profitability targets to meet; and these
argets are not set locally.
